View ProductAbout Armtec’s Infrastructure Solutions
More than a Century of Innovation
Founded in 1908, Armtec has been delivering innovative solutions to large infrastructure and construction projects for 110 years and counting.
We began our business by supplying steel culverts to the burgeoning road-building industry. Over several decades, we made a series of acquisitions including Big O, a leading Canadian manufacturer of high-density polyethylene corrugated pipe for the infrastructure and agriculture sectors.
In 2018, WGI Westman Group Inc. acquired Armtec’s Steel and Plastic Drainage Divisions, along with the Armtec name, consolidating them with Canada Culvert to form Armtec Inc. Armtec is proud to be part of the WGI family of companies. WGI was founded in 1976 by Russ Edwards with a single culvert mill, persistence and a focus on customer service. Today it has grown to over 2,200 talented and trusted employees in 77 locations across Canada and the United States.
Canada’s Largest Manufacturer of Water Management and Infrastructure Solutions
Armtec is now the largest manufacturer of water management and infrastructure solutions in Canada.
We’re proud to have expanded our business over the years to serve you better. We provide engineered construction solutions not just for Ontario customers, but for national and regional public infrastructure markets and private sector markets all across Canada, as well as in select global markets.
Operating through our network of regional offices and production facilities across the country, Armtec’s broad range of engineered solutions include products for drainage, bridge applications, soil retention, rehabilitation, and water management systems.
Armtec manufactures greatness: we build frameworks of function. Pathways for people. Structures for life. We have for over a century, and we’re with you on the road ahead, too.
Servicing the Infrastructure Industry
Our experienced team serves a diverse cross-section of industries, including infrastructure.
By investing in the proper infrastructure, countries, cities, and communities grow stronger. Vehicles can travel safely on the highway and drive across bodies of water thanks to solid bridges. Trains roll forward with ease while potential pollutants flow into under-drains for treatment and safe disposal. Water stays or moves where it belongs, draining from unwanted areas to be recirculated into its natural environment.
Everything flows as it should.
The Armtec team has decades of experience working with engineers, contractors, and project managers. Our products are well-suited for the remote locations encountered by road and rail engineers as they connect communities. Configurations are custom-designed and fabricated to suit site conditions. All components are factory-made for easy field installation.
Popular infrastructure applications include:
- Road or rail retaining walls
- Separation and soil stabilization for roadways
- Highway and road medians
- Curb lanes
- Culvert headwalls
- Culvert cut-off walls
- Short-span bridges
- Bridge abutments
- Vehicular, animal, and pedestrian underpasses
- Docks, piers, and loading ramps for freshwater marinas
- Fresh water shore protection
- Embankment construction
- Versatile earth retention systems made of geosythetics
Armtec is pleased to offer a full range of services, including project concept solutions, design and drawing preparation using sophisticated engineering tools, field support and after-sales service. We’re keen to help you solve the complexities of moving people and freight between strategic locations.
